The Mothers Day 5K will take place rain or shine. In the unlikely event of dangerous weather, the Race Director may cancel or amend the race for everyone’s safety. No refunds will be given. Check our Facebook page on race morning for last-minute weather cancellation news.



6:30 Packet Pick-Up opens

7:45 Get in starting line formation.

8:00 Race Start!


  • Runners line up on Indian Creek Parkway by pace signs for 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, & 13-minute miles.
  • Walkers and those doing a run/walk mix line up after the 14-minute pace group on Indian Creek Parkway.
  • Strollers line up in the road between the tents and Building 40, in our “stroller alley” lined with balloons. (You will merge onto the street after the runners/walkers take off. Remember, strollers may walk only during the event.)

Volunteers and pace signs will help you find your section. Your cooperation will ensure a safe start. See the start/finish map for details.

PARKING is plentiful in Corporate Woods, but plan to arrive by 7:15 a.m. as police may restrict traffic on the course after 7:30. Enter Corporate Woods from either Antioch or College Boulevard. From Antioch, enter on Indian Creek Parkway or 110th Street. From College Blvd, enter on Benson, Grandview, Indian Creek Parkway, or Mastin.  See course and parking map for details.

START & FINISH in front of Building 40, 9401 Indian Creek Pkwy, near the beautiful balloon arch.

RACE NUMBER: Pin it on the front of your shirt.

TIMING CHIP: You will be timed electronically by computer timing chip. Your chip is on the back of your race bib number. You must cross the mats at the start and finish lines to receive an official time in Race Results.

WATER will be available at start/finish area and near the half-way point.

PORTAPOTS will be available at start/finish area, and we will have two potties near the one-mile point and two near the 2 mile point.

CLOTHING CHECK will be available under the big tent, next to Packet Pick-Up.  Label your bag with your name. Please leave valuables at home or locked in the trunk of your car.

COURSE SAFETY is important. Although the course is monitored by Overland Park Police and our volunteers, please be careful, follow instructions, and watch out for vehicles.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES include refreshments, kid’s activity area, and photo tent.  We hope you’ll stay and enjoy the festivities.

AWARDS will be available to pick up under the big tent near the Results Computers.  Awards are for the top three women overall, top masters, and top three finishers in 5-year age groups.

For everyone’s safety, no headsets, skates, bicycles, wagons, dogs, or motorized vehicles are allowed on the course. Strollers and baby joggers must start at the back and may walk only.
