Race Day Information

Race Morning Schedule

6:30 — Packet Pick-Up opens.
7:45 — Get in starting line formation.
8:00 — Race Start!


  • Runners line up on Indian Creek Parkway according to pace signs for 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13-minute miles.
  • Walkers and those doing Run/Walk mix line up after the 14 min. pace group on Indian Creek Parkway.
  • Strollers line up in the parking lot next to Building 40, in our “stroller’s alley” lined with balloons (You will merge onto the street after the runners/walkers take off.) Remember, our insurance requires that those pushing strollers walk only during the entire event.

The Mother’s Day 5K will take place rain or shine. In the unlikely event of dangerous weather, the race director may cancel or amend the race for everyone’s safety. No refunds will be given. If weather conditions are unstable on race morning, check our Facebook page for last-minute weather cancellation news.

PARKING is plentiful in Corporate Woods. Enter Corporate Woods from either Antioch or College Boulevard. From Antioch, enter on Indian Creek Parkway or 110th Street. From College Blvd, enter on Benson, Grandview, Indian Creek Parkway, or Mastin. Plan to arrive no later than 7:15 a.m. as Overland Park Police may restrict traffic on the course after 7:30.  See course and parking map for details.

START & FINISH: In front of Building 40, 9401 Indian Creek Pkwy, near our beautiful balloon arch.

RACE NUMBER: Pin it on the front of your shirt.

CHIP: You will be timed electronically by computer timing chip. Your chip is attached to the back of your race bib. You must cross both the start and finish lines to receive your official time in Race Results.

WATER will be available at the start/finish area and near the halfway point.

CLOTHING CHECK will be available in the big tent near Packet Pick-Up. Label your gym bag with your name. Please leave valuables at home or locked in the trunk of your vehicle.

COURSE SAFETY is important. Although the course is monitored by Overland Park Police and our volunteers, please be careful, follow instructions, and watch out for vehicles.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES include refreshments, kid’s activity area, giveaways, and photo tent.  We hope you’ll stay and enjoy the festivities.

AWARDS will be available in the big tent near the Results computers.  Awards are for the top three women overall, top masters (age 40+), and the top three finishers in 5-year age groups.

RESULTS will be available at the computers in the big tent race morning and on the mothersdayrun.com website race day afternoon.

For everyone’s safety, NO HEADSETS or similar devices, skates, bicycles, wagons, dogs, or motorized vehicles are allowed on the course.  Strollers or baby joggers must start at the back and may walk only.  Please keep your child in the stroller while out on the race course.
