Every MD5K entrant gets a custom-made charm when she crosses our Finish Line. We create a new design each year to match our daisy logo, and have them cast in jewelry-quality pewter. Then we string them on a satin cord necklace just for you.
Some women wear them as is, some add them to a bracelet or key ring. We wanted to give you something different than a medal — something you might actually wear again!
Here are some charms from past years, and a peek at the 2014 model.

February is ♥ month. The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign aims to raise awareness about heart disease in women, and they’ve adopted the red dress as their symbol. To learn more about the #1 killer of American women, check out this great short video “Just A Little Heart Attack”. A portion of MD5K proceeds will benefit Go Red.
We care about your ♥!

2014 marks the tenth birthday of Mother’s Day 5K! Unlike most races, we come up with a brand new logo design each year. (As women, we know you don’t want the same old thing!) The logo always features a daisy, and it’s always created by a KC Express member. Our 2014 artist is Jane Smeltzer, whose exuberant designs and colors match her personality. Enjoy Jane’s artwork in the web banner above. We think you’re going to love it!
